About
I'm Max. I'm from Sydney. I like music. I'm interested in puzzles. I like foreign languages. I prefer non-fiction to fiction. I love Magic: the Gathering but hardly ever get a chance to play it. My girlfriend's name is Aika. I have bad posture. I prefer Facebook to Myspace. I'm half asian. I'm getting a bit of a double chin. I can touchtype. I don't mind doing the dishes. I hate the texture of mushrooms. I can't prepare any food whatsoever. I even have trouble peeling bananas. I think I smell a little today. I'm trying to cut down on junk food.

Hola, me llamo Syn. Tengo 34 años y estoy estudiando coreano. Hello I am Syn. I am 34 and currently studying Korean. I blog about my little city after been inspired by Hyun-woo Sun’s blog. From his YouTube channel I “met” you. I was very happy that you got to travel to Korea. Thank you for sharing your experiences!

Maxie
You do come from Australia.
Nice site and I look forward to exploring it.
And a fan of the ABC.
A couple of questions.
This is not the basic wordpress setup ….you pay something per month to keep it up there?
And Tommaso did all your it stuff for you?
Cheers
KT

Thanks your majesty.
Yeah, I have to pay $9 a month to keep it here. I might not keep it going for very much longer, I don’t use write so often, so I’m not really getting the most out of it.
Tommaso made the design, that is the colours, the setup. It’s really easy to change how everything looks in WordPress, you just click on what you want. I never had any contact with Tommasso, he just uploaded his design somewhere and I downloaded it from there.
Ta for dropping by!

Hi Maxie
Thanks for the feedback. You probably know, but should you have friends without Mandarin, you can download QQ in English. It works a treat. http://www.lostlaowai.com/how-to-get-a-qq-account-in-english
Going to have to pay the money and get a decent wordpress setup. Getting tired of my kt rants on cs. Book reviews and serious political stuff on China.
Cheers
KT

Hey Max,
Firstly, I have a confession: I found this website through ChinaSmack because I found your articles to be a fantastic read.
Hence, I feel like a stalker.
..especially after reading your brief but very direct ‘about’ introduction. A double chinned, touchtyping and language loving Sydneysider!
And this is to make me seem like less of a faceless stalker:
Sarah. A mother. A Sydneysider. A Uni Student. Half my time is spent in China. Trying VERY VERY hard to learn Chinese. Love Uno. Hate Vodka. Unemployed. Married.
Just out of interest.. do you know where I can get in touch with some Chinese language teachers for private lessons?
Once again… great articles
All the best,
Sarah

Thanks for the kind words Sarah! Have you tried gumtree for Chinese teachers?
